Enercalc Structural Engineering Library

(OP)
Version 6 of Enerclalc's software has been released recently with a new and improved feature.  An internet base activate/deactivate licensing has been implemented to ensure that only a single user uses the program at any one time.  Now, this wouldn't really be a problem assuming of course that after deactivating on one computer, that it could actually be activated on another.  That's not all of  the story however.  Once an attempt is made to activate on the second machine has failed, it does not allow activation anywhere, since their server thinks the license is already being used.  This requires that the user contact Enercalc to reset the license, so it may be re-activated on the originally installed machine.  After a few days, Enercalc will finally get around to resetting the license, (if your lucky)

After several attempts to help tech support to track down this bug, they seemed to have given up.  We've been directed by them to deal directly with the security company that has written the activate-deactivate module for them, which we don't really have time in our work schedule to do after the two weeks of working with Enercalc on this issue.

We just want to know whether anyone else out there is dealing with similar issues with this software, since Enercalc claims that we are the only one having this problem.

RE: Enercalc Structural Engineering Library

I have it set up using a network license manager (NLM) on our server.  However, I can not get a license at all, on any machine.  I suspect that out IT guys installed it on one machine somewhere, and now I can't get a license.   very interesting to here others are having the same problem.  We have not yet contact Enercalc, as we thought the problem was internal.  But now I will tell my IT guys about this.

Thanks

It's comforting to hear that we are not alone with experiencing problems with Enercalc's new licensing protocol.

RE: Enercalc Structural Engineering Library

well, my IT guy figured it out yesterday.  Apparently all that was required to fix our problem was to uninstall and then reinstall the software on my machine.  Stupid software programmers.  Anyway, it is working now.
