extrude boss from another feature

(OP)
Hello,

I was trying to extrude boss the end result of another feature, as example: after having a revolved boss with thin layer, it gives a solid cylinder with wall thickness 20 mm.
if i want to extrude this wall around the cylinder for 50 mm, it opens a new sketch for me to draw and i just want to use what i have coz sometimes its a complicated curve that will not exactly fit on the exsiting one.
Is there a way to specify to use the existing wall instead of let me draw a new scetch?

Thanks

"Convert Entities"

RE: extrude boss from another feature

No, you can't use the existing wall directly to create a new feature.  You can, however, use "Convert Entities" to easily recreate the edge geometry in a new sketch.

Thanks for the reply,

I used Convert Entities but i thought that there is another way to do it.

Thanks again

Sounds like a revolve feature rather than extrude, but if it is extrude you might be able to use Insert>Face>Move without having to create a sketch.

RE: extrude boss from another feature

Why can't you just change the size of your original boss instead of scabbing on another feature?
