UG-NX4 CAM => Unable to visualize the holder

UG-NX4 CAM => Unable to visualize the holder

UG-NX4 CAM => Unable to visualize the holder

(OP)
The tool has been retrieve from the Tool library,
but the holder details are missing, only tapered (conical) shape is been viewed.

If the tool is selected from the tool library is the holder automatically loded? (i.e., is the holder selected form the holder library or tool library automatically)

If not how to load the holder automatically while the tool been is selected from the tool Lib?

plz help me

RE: UG-NX4 CAM => Unable to visualize the holder

How was the library tool created?

When I export a tool to the library with a holder, when I retrieve the tool the holder comes with it.  I tried this on NX4.0.2.2 and it works fine.

1) How to export a tool with a holder, and retrieve it back?

2) I have no idea how the tool was created,
but the tool data details was found in the following .dat file

File location ---> UGS/NX4/MACH/custom/library/tool/metric/tool_database.dat
(Note: file attached, only the tool data details, not the entire file)

Sorry I could not attach the file (tool_database.dat), because of security reasons.

RE: UG-NX4 CAM => Unable to visualize the holder

1. Create a tool with a holder
2. On the tool dialog select Export tool to Library
Select the tool type and hit OK

3. Select retrieve tool and select the tool you just exported.  It should come in with the holder.

As long as you have write access to the tool database you should be able to add tools to the library.
