Produced water degasser

Produced water degasser

(OP)
I am attempting to design a produced water degasser.  The water will be first separated in first / second stage 3 phase separators and then pumped to a break tank.  After this the water is pumped through hydrocyclones to reduce the hydrocarbons to 30-40ppm.

The produced water degasser will receive approx 45,000bbl/d of water. What I am really interested in is a required liquid residence time for the liquid in order to size the degasser.  Would this usually be a vertical vessel?

Cheers

RE: Produced water degasser

For degassing you should use a horz. vesseæ in order to minimize the travel distance for bubbels and maximize contact area.

You company engineering standard may state something about residense time?

If not GPSA/API has some guidelines.

Best regards

Morten
