Need help identifying a drafting symbol
Need help identifying a drafting symbol
(OP)
I have a symbol on a mechanical drawing that I can't identify. It is a circle with a slash through it. What does it represent? The drawing is dealing with measurements in mm for length/width etc.

"The diameter symbol in engineering, ⌀, is often incorrectly referred to as "phi". This symbol is used to indicate the diameter of a circular section, for example ⌀14 means the diameter of the circle is 14 units." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phi_%28letter%29

Sympathy star, random star, stolen star, make no difference to me, when I collect enough, I am trading them in for one of those foo-foo coffee's at Buckies.

Thanks for Ø and ±. I always wanted to know how to do those.
Please note everyone, that on the TGML preview page, there is a "Click here" that shows you all sorts of TGML codes, not including the ones above. TheTicks values work nicely. Also, you can go to http://www.w3c.org, and read through the HTML standards to find more character codes.
