Anchor Software

Anchor Software

I feel bad for asking this because I have seen the same topic come up before, but for the life of me, I cannot find it.

Does anyone have recommendations for anchor design software?  I have looked at DSAnchor, Simpson, and Engineering International spreadsheet.  The software needs to design headed anchor bolts of many different cases and loads.  Thank you for your assistance

RE: Anchor Software

If you can not design headed anchor bolts by hand then you should not use a spreadsheet.  If you can design a anchor bolt using Appendix D, then a spreadsheet application is easily created, long and complicated with reinforcement and edge distances, but easy and applicable to the 2" diameter and smaller anchors with 25 inch embedment and less.

RE: Anchor Software

I would agree with civilperson here.  The software I have seen from various product manufacturers is way to simplified most of the time.  Edge distances and spacing have such a profound effect on capacities, that they need to be carefully considered.

RE: Anchor Software

DS Anchor does appendix D wonderfully (achored studs or mechanical anchor).  But you guys must agree that Appendix D is geared toward softwares.  Sure you can learn Appendix D, but I bet after a month you will forget how to do it.  I recommend it!

I am simply looking for a quicker way to design different anchor bolts, I can run the hand calc just fine.  I also do not have time to set-up a spreadsheet, so I was looking for software to aid in the design.  Structuresguy which software have you used?

RE: Anchor Software

S.K. Gosh just released Quick Anchor.

RE: Anchor Software

are you the same guy who is designing pipe racks/support?

post your email and i'll send you a spreadsheet..

also get a hold of anchor bolt design for petrochemical facilities.. that's a good reference..

RE: Anchor Software

DS Anchor report is far exceed other programs.  It is very detailed and tell you references on Appendix D.  Two thumbs up!

Thank you lsmfse, I will take a look at the demo.

I am not the person designing the pipe racks, but I would not mind a copy. book21212121@yahoo.com

RE: Anchor Software

Hilti do some free software called ProFis.  Its quite good but only works for Hilti products.
