Drilling of hardened plate

Drilling of hardened plate

Drilling of hardened plate

(OP)
Dear Friends,
Please tell how can i drill a 12 mm thick hardened Steel PLate. Tell me the type of drill machine i should use, i have to drill around 200 holes to make a perforating die.
              Thank you for any help.

RE: Drilling of hardened plate

Information on diameter of holes, tolerance on diameter and location, length and width of plate would be helpful.

RE: Drilling of hardened plate

Use annealed die steel of a type that will match your end use, and harden it AFTER the machinign is done.  This is how it's done.  You can EDM pre-hardened blanks, but this can be rather costly given the number of holes needed.
