Interpart copy from one assembly to another?

Interpart copy from one assembly to another?

Interpart copy from one assembly to another?

(OP)
Hey guys, is there any way to inter-part copy from one assembly to another? I have one main assembly with many sub assembly's and want to use them to boolean a cutout but I get an error. Is there a way around this?

Using V19.

Thanks

RE: Interpart copy from one assembly to another?

You can't interpart copy into an assembly - you do it into a part.
Can you be a bit more specific about what you want to do ?

RE: Interpart copy from one assembly to another?

Simplistically I suppose you'd create a part from that assembly using either insert part copy or possibly simplified assy, save as part (I think that's right).  However depending on geometry it doesn't always work and SE don't really condone doing this generally.
