John, using your grip
John, using your grip
(OP)
John, I've been looking at previous attribute posts, and in one, you posted a grip of yours which is called "dwg_info" , I've tried chopping it up but i don't understand the language.
All i want is a grip, which adds the current date to the existing "date" attribute (overwrites).
But the date needs to be day/month/year, format, using a dot between each.
Could you please help ?

RE: John, using your grip
'assign_date-1.grx' assigns a Part Attribute titled DATE in the format of 'dd.mm.yy'.
'assign_date-2.grx' assigns a Part Attribute titled DATE in the format of 'dd.mm.yyyy'.
I hope this helps.

the first one is the one, I've been trying to string it together 3 times, to get it to add, DRAFTER_DATE , ENGINEER_DATE , APPROVED_DATE .
I thought i'd be able to sus it from reading the other programs. I've looked at help, but i think i need a training course. Would you mind altering it to add these, Thanks....

Incidentally, in one of the posts, you advised someone to do this type of thing with a grip, cos journal doesn't do it as well, and since, it sounds as if grip will be dropped, will journal be enhanced to encompass this functionality?

RE: John, using your grip
would you be interested in a .vb Journal file that does that? I can post one, although I think I got it off of this forum, so perhaps the author could post it (someone named Henry?)
