Imperfection

Imperfection

(OP)
I am using Abaqus for instability analysis in composite panels under shear.I successfully did the Eigenvalue buckling analysis so i need to analyze the exact behavior of the panel upto fracture with "Static, Riks" in Abaqus.

The imperfection to be introduced is the first eigenvalue buckling mode.
Since in my model I have tie and coupling constraints when i import the input file an error occurs that "Node based surfaces are not yet supported in CAE, so the tie constraint is dropped but the coupling constraints remain.

The above problem dwarfs the Static, Riks analysis when i edit  the Static, Riks input file and reapply the tie constraint the Static, Buckle input file where the first eigen values will be extracted from will also miss the tieconstraint and the final deformation isn't correct.

I have used *NODE PRINT but the result file isn't wrriten whatsover.
Any ideas?

RE: Imperfection

It should be something like this if you want to write out *.fil file (from which you extract particular mode). For example, for 1 st mode extraction:

*NODEFILE, GLOBAL=YES, LASTMODE=1
U

Use this in your static Riks procedure.
