Crane load in a foundation drawing

(OP)
When tabulating foundation loads, do you put the specified loads for a crane under self weight only or do you include impact factors (not to be confused with load factors) as well?

RE: Crane load in a foundation drawing

Crane impact should not affect the footing gravity loads.  Lateral loading would have an affect on the column bases, thus the footings.

RE: Crane load in a foundation drawing

In the USA, OSHA requires that overhead cranes be load tested at "not more than" 125% of rated capacity (or higher if specified by the manufacturer).

I suggest that the tabulated load include this 125% of rated capacity. Part of the reason for the careful overload test (hopefully essentially static) is to allow for vertical "impact" loads if a careless operator "yanked" on a heavy lift or did something else to cause a similar impulse loading.
