P-delta ~ secondary

P-delta ~ secondary

P-delta ~ secondary

(OP)
What are other secondary analysis besides P-delta

RE: P-delta ~ secondary

That is the definition of a secondary analysis.

There are two types of second order effects:
P-smalldelta - which is from the deflection of the members between its ends (e.g the buckling of a column under bending)
P-large delta - is the translation of the end points in relation to each other e.g. like the columns of a portal frame under sway conditions.

Hope this helps.

RE: P-delta ~ secondary

I'm nit-picking, but you both probably mean second-order.

csd72 is absolutely right.

RE: P-delta ~ secondary
