XREF problem

XREF problem

XREF problem

(OP)
I am having to change the directory paths for some 180 or so tif xref's that have been moved to a different folder on a different network drive.  The original drawing had these ref's to a folder on a private computer....
When I change the directory path, everything works fine, preview shows up and it says that the tif has been attached... the problem is that they wont show up on the drawing......all layers have been turned on and it still wont show...
any ideas?
also, is there a faster way than doing each one of these manually?

thanks, that will definitely help with the new path....

any idea as to why the tiff documents will not show up in the drawing?

RE: XREF problem

Regarding the preview, if I recall properly, AutoCAD creates a GIF of the screen when the drawing is closed (or maybe saved), which is why the preview showed the XRef's althought the links were broken.  I think this came out in Release 13 or 14 and we typically turned it off to save file space.  That was back in the 386/486 days with 8/16 MB of RAM, 20 MB hard disks, and 4 MB Token Ring networks.

i had never used the reference manager and that is a great tool. Thanks, that was a huge time-saver!
but, the odd thing now is that only about 85% of the xrefs now show up... For some reason, there are a few that just wont show.  If you look at the area where they should be, CAD knows that there is a file there, but no picture shows..

The reference manager shows good links, and everything... Sorry to be buggin ya so much, just kinda new to all of this...

Nevermind, I figured it out...somehow under the properties the raster was set to not be shown on these certain areas....don;t know why...but thanks for all the help!!!
