I have a spaceball 4000 serial port. I am trying to get it to run on a new 64 bit machine. I have downloaded both the 2.8.2 and the 3.6.6 drivers. I can't seem to get it to do anything. it beeps twicw when the machine starts,,,and that's it.Thanks for the help

RE: Spaceball 4000 on 64 bit

You have to install the current 3DxWare, but you have to install the OLD SW drivers.  I went through this at my last job.  To tell you the truth, just buy a new one.  I spent hours upon hours fighting with the 4K and the computer and it's not worth the wasted man-hours.

RE: Spaceball 4000 on 64 bit

I spent quite a few hours trying this as well.
The only solution I know of - Spaceball 5000 USB. with driver 3.6.6
There is no way 64-bit would take 4000FLX. At least I couldn't find it...
If you want to go back to 32-bit machine and use your 4000FLX with SW2008 you need to install 3DxWare 2.8.2 and Swx add-on from 3DSoftware 3.6.4
Hope it helps.
