Dynamic Simulations

(OP)
Hello,

I'm not sure this is the right forum for the question, but I can't find a more well suited one so here goes.  I'm interested in the dynamic simulation of a power station (combustion chamber, boiler, steam turbine generator, and/or combustion turbine generator) and am looking for good references for dynamic simulation models.  I have a number of papers, but am interested in what others may recommend.  Also, I've got a copy of "Modelling and Simulation of Power Generation Plants" by Ordys et. al. which has models of each of the components, but I have heard it may not be one of the better references to use.  Any guidance would be most appreciated.  If this is not the proper location for such discussion, direction to the proper forum would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Nathan

RE: Dynamic Simulations

Hmmm... what do you mean the randome vib of all this different things?  And, what are you trying to do? Do you need simulation models for a FEM or profiles for a vib table?  If it is vib/shock related, the best form would be "Mechanical Acoustics/Vibration Engineering" .

I'm actually mostly interested in the response of the various equipment to load shedding scenarios (loss of partial electrical load).  So how the boiler steam level, pressure, etc. responds to these instances, and back down the chain to the furnace.  It's not just a mechanical project, but each of the models do involve modeling the thermodynamic performance of the equipment.

RE: Dynamic Simulations

Oh ok, then the forum would be "Heat Transfer and Thermaldynamics Engineering"

Thanks for the pointer in the right direction.

RE: Dynamic Simulations

NP good luck!

RE: Dynamic Simulations

This is a standard power topic, so electric power engineering might also work for you.
