BOM item numbers

BOM item numbers

BOM item numbers

(OP)
As always, nothing good is coming out of using the Solidworks BOM for me.

I am trying to change the item numbers on the BOM on one of the parts on a big assembly. When I double click the item number, nothing happens. It thinks for a second like its going to bring up the "are you sure you want to change this number" box, but nothing comes up.  Ones that I have changed before will still change, but others wont.

Any solutions? Ive tried restarting and different formatting things...nothing yet.

thanks in advance

RE: BOM item numbers

What version/SP are you on?
If you're using 2008, just grab the row and move it to the position you want. The number(s) will update accordingly.

You have to have that feature turn on. We turned ours off so SolidWorks BOM would follow assembly model order.
