I have to put in 2" copper pipe for condenser return water for my raised floor CRAC units.  Copper pipe costs are out of sight. Just curious if anyone has been experimenting with less expensive alternates.

I thought about plastic, but not sure if it's against any New York State Fire Code section. I guess I'll check and see.

We're actually getting requests to use stainless steel in place of copper due to rising costs.
