I have a fully sprinkled theatre.

One either side of the stage I am dropping down to a hose valve cabinet with 2 1/2" hose.

The overhead pipe is 4" and I do have to calculate the standpipe 500 gpm @ 100 psi but what is the minimum size for the drop?

I would like to drop 3" but it appears my minimum size is 4".

Block is going up and I need to do something out there this afternoon.  Hate jobs I am behind on before I start.

I know you are in Georgia and they have their own amendments but the 2006 IFC, Section 905.3.4, exception 1, allows the use of a Class II standpipe when the building or area is fully sprinklered.

Stookey,

Yes, you are right but this isn't my design and the project engineer insists insists we have a 2 1/2" hose valve.

Never mind, answered my own question.
