600V 400A 3 Pole Double Pole Double Throw Switch
600V 400A 3 Pole Double Pole Double Throw Switch
(OP)
I have an application in which I would like to use a DPDT switch to toggle between two loads, connecting a source to the common terminal. In the typical DPDT switch application, a load is connected to the common terminal and is toggled between two sources. In that many of these switches I've observed mark the common terminal "LOAD", and the other two terminals "LINE", should I assume that this application would violate the UL Listing?
Thanks for any opinion or guidance.

The NEC permits such applications when conditions of maintenance assure only qualified personnel may service the switch and it is clearly labeled.

That was my conclusion also. I just wanted to insure that I was on track. It would be an inexpensive solution; however, the other considerations will force me in a different direction.
Thanks for your time & expertise.
