Pack and Go issue

Pack and Go issue

Pack and Go issue

(OP)
Hi,

I need to use the Prefix feature while I pack and go a main assembly. In my main assly i have few sub-asslys.

I need to have the Prefix attached to all the parts throughout.

I observe that the parts would not have a prefix at the sub-assly level.

Does anybody here know why?

Thanks
BMR

RE: Pack and Go issue

After adding the prefix and saving the files via Pack and Go, open the new assembly (with the prefix) and rebuild it.  All subassemblies and parts should update to files with the prefix.

Hi,
Thax.
Do you mean that the parts in the sub assly will get a Prefix-automatically after rebuild?

RE: Pack and Go issue

Yes.  Pack and Go applies the prefix to all files.  If you want to bring the corresponding drawings, you will need to check the "Include Drawings" box at the top of the Pack and Go dialog before adding your prefix.

When you initially open the top level assembly with the prefix, the parts and subassemblies in the feature manager will display the old file names.  Once you click "Rebuild", the feature manager will update the file names to the names with the prefix.
