HOW DO YOU MODEL A PERFORATED PIPE OUTLET?

HOW DO YOU MODEL A PERFORATED PIPE OUTLET?

HOW DO YOU MODEL A PERFORATED PIPE OUTLET?

(OP)
THE 4" PERFORATED PIPE IS LAID HORIZONTALLY IN STONE UNDER PERVIOUS PAVEMENT FOR USE AS AN OVERFLOW (SECONDARY) OUTLET. ARE THE PERFORATIONS TREATED AS ORIFICES WHICH WILL CONTROL THE FLOW INTO THE PIPE? THE PRIMARY OUTLET FOR LOW FLOW IS EXFILTRATION THROUGH A SAND FILTER INTO AN EPIC CHAMBER

RE: HOW DO YOU MODEL A PERFORATED PIPE OUTLET?

If the perforations are a flow control, you can model them as an orifice array by setting the number of rows and columns.

To consider the pipe capacity, you can route the orifice(s) into a culvert outlet.  But if the orifice capacity significantly exceeds the pipe capacity, you can simplify the model and skip the orifice setup entirey.  Just use a culvert outlet.
