Are AN3 screw threads equivalent to UNF or something ells?

(OP)
Im having trouble finding info on AN screw threads. I'm making a brake wear indicator that orignally used a modified AN(3) bolt, I know it's 10-32 rolled threads but how do I make a compatible thread call-out on my drawing?
Thank you!

RE: Are AN3 screw threads equivalent to UNF or something ells?

By AN you mean american national?  I believe the basic thread form is indeed the same as for UN though there may be differences in the tolerances/classes.

Also there is no formal UN equivalent to the smaller screws.

KENAT, probably the least qualified checker you'll ever meet...

RE: Are AN3 screw threads equivalent to UNF or something ells?

if you had access to the NAS standards, you'd clearly see that they are UNF-3A

RE: Are AN3 screw threads equivalent to UNF or something ells?

Looking at the specification for AN3, the thread is per MIL-S-7742 which is a cut thread.  MIL-S-8879 is the rolled threads spec.

It used to mean " Army navy"
