Solenoid valve specification
Solenoid valve specification
(OP)
Hi guys, I've got a custom process(on an assembly line) in which I need an air powered component to turn 'on' after receiving a signal from a sensor. For this application I'll need a 2-way solenoid valve, of course, but I don't know what Cv value I require. I'll use the following tool(which I found after searching through this forum):
http:// www.ascova lvenet.com /Ascovalve net/Applic ations/Val veSizinggl obal/VSGas Media.aspx
I know the Temp. of the air, the Inlet Pressure(the pressure that will lead into the solenoid valve), the Specific Gravity of air, and the Flow Rate I require to operate my air powered component, but I don't know the pressure drop. Is this the pressure drop across the solenoid valve?
Thanks,
Andy

RE: Solenoid valve specification
Asco is a well renowned supplier of solenoid valves, but far from the only one.
For picking out the correct solenoide valve you will need everything you need to pick out a larger automatic/electric valve, plus a bit more that needs a solenoid technical/commercial valve specialist to evaluate.
Do you need one or several thousend?
My best suggestion is to ask Asco or one of the competitors directly (always at least two companies!). You might end up with perhaps a more commercial accessible solution or technical better or cheaper soulution than you would on your own.
