File problems

File problems

File problems

(OP)
I am getting 2 error messages when I try to open some of my solidworks parts, assy's, and dwgs. 1)"Unexpected end of file" then it boots me out of a drawing, and 2)"Unexpected file format" then it suppresses all the files that have this problem in my assy. All files were ok as of this morning. I went to my local settings\ temp, and cleaned out this folder. Could that have been the problem? I clean out the temp periodicly.

RE: File problems

You could have some corrupt files.  I had this happen to me recently when I moved some files on my laptop computer to my workstation with a bad SD Card.  Corrupted a bunch of my models.  Had a whole weekend of work that had to be re-done.  Bummer.... sad

I tossed out the bad SD Card and have not had an issue since.

Did you get any weird power outages, etc, while you were working with the files?  Maybe a bad sector on the hard drive.  Hard to say what may have corrupted the files.

You may want to send the files to your VAR and ask them to send them to Concord for the SW gurus to take a look.  They may be able to recover them for you.  Although you may just have to re-do them.

Wish I had better thoughts for you,
