Dual Element Fuse

(OP)
Is Dual element fuse successfully used in industry?
And if yes - for which sort of applications/scenarios ?

RE: Dual Element Fuse

Sure it is, go to cooper bussman or any other fuse manufacturers website for application info, too long of an answer to type here.

RE: Dual Element Fuse

A dual element fuse is very good for motor duty.
Often a smaller fused disconnect may be used for motor service. The dual element fuse combines good short circuit protection with tolerance for short term overloads such as motor starting. They may also provide backup protection for the motor overload relays. Smaller switches may also be used.
Eg, a 40 amp dual element fuse in a 60 amp switch may be equivalent to a 70 or 80 amp fuse in a 100 amp switch.

RE: Dual Element Fuse

Dual element low voltage fuses are very common and almost universal in some applications such as motor protection.
