Export a simplified model from NX4

Export a simplified model from NX4

Export a simplified model from NX4

(OP)
I need to export an NX4 assembly file to a customer but need to remove all internal detail for confidentiality reasons. Previously I have opened each part and suppressed internal features prior to exporting the assembly. As the assembly files get larger does anyone know a simpler method for exporting a file with only external features visible?

Thanks

RE: Export a simplified model from NX4

If you have an Advanced Assembly module, there are several tools there which can be used to create a simplified assembly including a 'Wizard' which will lead you through the process step-by-step utilizing the various tools available to you to accomplish this.

RE: Export a simplified model from NX4

Simplify body or Simplify Assembly would create a model with the bare bones externals as quick as you're going to be able to. Perhaps don't expect miracles but it will work.

If it is purely and simply for packaging purposes (jargon for making something fit in a defined space), then it can't hurt to try wrap geometry and there is also a wrap assembly function. The result looks nothing like the original and you can't really pick out important interface points, but it may be a practical option for you.

Cheers
