Wind Turbine pole tower

Wind Turbine pole tower

(OP)
Dear all
Our company would like to install a wind turbine on the Pole tower (without guys-a free standing) .How deep are pole towers into the ground? The tower hight is 10 meters.
How much concrete is needed for that?
What kind of the foundation  design is best for the pole towers?
Thank you very much
Regards
Alexei Vodopianiov

RE: Wind Turbine pole tower

Augered cast-in-place piers are very efficient for foundations having small axial loads and large moments.  A patented ring with a bottom foundation uses backfilled soil in the center to help with overturning forces.  After the soil parameters are discovered by a geotech investigation, the exact dimensions can be designed.  For cost estimating purposes, use 54" diameter and 20' deep.

steel piles can also be used.  these can be vibrated into the ground assuming soil conditions are suitable.  these may be more cost effective than concrete

The wind towers I have seen both onshore and offshore are spread footings, as much as 50 ft (18+/- m) in diameter and on land were approximately 10 feet(3+/-m) deep. It would seem that piles would be more efficent, but I have not seen any with piles.
