impact test

(OP)
I have a vessel which is designed at -50F. Impact test is required for this vessel.

My question is do I need to do impact test for the internal and external attachment, such as skirt, support ring, pipe support clips and platform? Or do I need to use UCS-66 to consider the exemption of impact test?

For my understanding, impact test are not required for these non-pressure part. They can used at that temperture without impact test.

Please advice.

Correct.

RE: impact test

engineermat,

Per UCS-66(a), "attachments which are essential to the structural integrity of the vessel when welded to pressure retaining components" need to be evaluated for impact test requirements. I would consider vessel supports (e.g. skirt) and vacuum stiffener rings among these "attachments"
