ALUMINUM QQ-A-225-6

ALUMINUM QQ-A-225-6

(OP)
I have an application that calls out aluminum tubing 2024 per QQ-A-225-6.
The size is 1.3125 od x .755 ± .0025.

Can anyone tell me if this is a common size? Is this a special make?

Is there a place where I can get this material? I cannot seem to find it.

THANK YOU
CNCMILL

RE: ALUMINUM QQ-A-225-6

the ID looks decidedly funny (unless it's a stammer)

RE: ALUMINUM QQ-A-225-6

The "QQ-" specification was superseded back in 2004 eventually being replaced by ASTM B 211.

JFSSWISS

For extruded tube [which is what you actually described] specify: 2024-(temper) per AMS-QQ-A-200/3 [extruded BAR, ROD, SHAPES, TUBE AND WIRE]

CAUTION: If these materials are for NON-AEROSPACE use, then the ASTM equivalent material is "OK". Otherwise... stick to the AMS material!!!!!!
