Relationship b/n Price and Genset Voltage

Relationship b/n Price and Genset Voltage

Relationship b/n Price and Genset Voltage

(OP)
This is probably an easy one for those of you who have gone through and done a feasability on a LV vs. MV design for a site.  I am about to do this but have little idea what relationship exists between a generator's voltage and its cost.  What factors influence this, or is it more or less a wash.  I have found plenty of subjects on this on EngTips but there is little mention of capital costs on a equipment by equipment basis. (ie: 12470/480 1000kVA XFMR vs 480/208 1000kVA XFMR)

I am particularily wondering about the genset, and also what availability exists for 'odd' voltages for the major manufacturers.  I have run into a couple major manufacturers who just provide documentation on the standard voltages.  If anyone has access to an updated, free, online MEANS like estimation tool this would be useful.!
Thanks!

RE: Relationship b/n Price and Genset Voltage

Cost is only one of the factors, usually less important to make a final design decision on a system probably suitable for MV application.

Your best approach would be to hire professionals to do a schematic design and have professional estimator estimate the project cost.

Any other excercise is meaningless

Plus its not only the cost of one equipment such a genset or the transformer, but the entire installtion needs to be considered. Cost also varies by geographic location. Cost is also relative to what you are trying to accomplish.

A project for a school is lot different than for a mission critical facility.
