Transmission Design

(OP)
Hi All...

I am currently a structural engineer. I have interest in transmission design. How could i find some resources such as book, code or others? I need information in basic stage such as part of tower transmission, conductor, sag and others.

Thank you in the advance.

RE: Transmission Design

I suggest you try RUS Bulletin 1724E-200 Design Manual For High Voltage Transmission Lines.  It gives a good basic overview of the work and it is free.

Really helpfull.Thanks for the info.

RE: Transmission Design

Depending what part of the world you're located in, Electric Power Consultants puts on seminars on line design.  They held in different locations across the US, but have them in Florida each year.

RE: Transmission Design

The de facto standard for T-Line design software is from Power Line Systems.  The engineering consultants are looking for engineers that want to work in the field and the larger electric utilities are looking to replace the aging baby boomers who will retire in the next few years.

Thanks for the info.
I live in Indonesia. I have just moved to the contractor which is provide the design and construction of transmission line. It is joint venture between UK company, which is pretty good in transmission, and local company. I was in structural consultant for about 7 years.
