nonstandard Spline
2

nonstandard Spline

nonstandard Spline

(OP)
I have a spline out of all the standard

external spline
number of teeth 30
outer dia.(major dia)      31.7  mm
inner dia.(minor dia)      29.4  mm
this make the tooth hieght larger than one module

according to the ISO major dia should be 30 OR 29.9 mm

I cann't find the proper classification.
Help is needed .

RE: nonstandard Spline

Sounds like your spline is based on English (or American, if you will)system of units.

OD = 1 1/4 in
ID = 1 5/32 in

Not sure about the standard.

Thanks !
It looks diametral spline.
But this spline is a part of Russian locomotive and as far as I know they don't use diametral gears or splines.

RE: nonstandard Spline

You are going to need more input as to dimensionions
over balls or pins.  Is the spline an ivolute spline or
straight sided?  Module splines are often designed non
standard is Europe and maybe also in Russia.
I assume it is a 30 degree pressure angle spline.
I think you are suggesting that it is a one module
design with some profile shift incorporated.
I believe the normal 1 module would have a 31mm
outside diameter, so I assume the profile shift is
.35 millimeters per side.  Using that as a guess
calculate the new spine width and dimension over
pins to see if it agrees with this assumption.

RE: nonstandard Spline

(OP)
Thanks
It is not straight sided spline
My first calculations was exactly as your assumptions , but the depth of the teeth was 1.15 module not (one)module [.45module add & .55 module dd]

RE: nonstandard Spline

I think the standard 1 module would have
a .50 addendum and .65 dedendum with the
dedendum dependent on whether is is root
bottom fit or side to side fit.

Thanks !
I would like to know if this depth devision according to a standard or just as we need.
