High Temp Exhuast Fan
High Temp Exhuast Fan
(OP)
In a high temp exhuast fan (i.e. 15-1600ºF), do you mount the floating bearing on the fan side or the sheave(drive) side?
Does the shaft grow towards or away from the heat?
If I mount the floating on the sheave side, I am compromising belt life because of sheave alignment? Is this correct?

RE: High Temp Exhuast Fan
The bearing on the sheave end should be considered the fixed bearing, the fan & shaft to expand outward from that point.

But really, usually there's a guru at the company who won't return your call for a few days... leave him a few messages about your concern. I totally agree with your and Fred's philosophy, but there might be some pesky clearance issue on the other side of the fan that is unbeknownst to us at this time in this forum.. -CB

The outside unit for the up runs but the blower/fan is not turning on. I have checked the filters, tripped the breakers
with no results.
Any suggestions?
