For gas line flow losses is isothermal flow the norm?. If not, what thermal considerations are given in determining fluid flow hydraulic losses?

In gas line flow analyses, the isothermal "assumption" is the norm where the gas temperature is assumed to be the average gas temperature, however it be determined.
