Nastran to Femap

Nastran to Femap

(OP)
I have imported a solid model in from NASTRAN to Femap. I need to get section properties, loads, and constraints. I am checking the model. One element "a beam" needs to be checked. I know where the beam is JUST NEED THE PROPERTIES OF THIS ONE BEAM. How do you go about exporting out the ID's, section properties, nodes, and information of this one element or if the only way all the elements to a text file? or some kind of way to check the model. This one beam is failing in our hand anaylsis. The model was sent to us to verify that they have made the change. I have MSC Nastran. Any info would be great. Thanks

RE: Nastran to Femap

if you click on the element with the right cursor you get a listing of the properties.

can't you "modify, properties" and select by element ?

if you have the bulk data file, can't you look up  the "PBAR" or "PBEAM" card ?

RE: Nastran to Femap

Hi FNFEA.

Have you tried this:

List/Model/Element and select the beam in question, then OK, OK.

Make sure your snap is set to "Snap to Element" if there is such an option (I'm home right now, without my Femap PC)
