Large Diameter Bar

Large Diameter Bar

I need an ASME material specification for a bar of 14 inches diameter.  It is for a Hydraulic swivel that will be built and analyzed to ASME BPVC.
Can anyone send a suggestion?
Thanks!  -Ed May

gr2vessels,

Thanks for the prompt reply!

I was hoping that there was a Bar specification.  SA105 is a forging specification...  SA-105 also doesn't have a Clause 4.4 which means I'm looking in the wrong book?

I'm looking in 2007 Section II, Part A, SA-105 section 4., page 200.

Basically, I'm looking for the easiest way to get a piece of material that's 14" dia by about 16" long.

Thanks again!

RE: Large Diameter Bar

SA105 is also used for forged bar.

More foten than SA105 comes dual certified SA350 LF2 which has the added benefit of being impact testing as part of the specification.

When using forged or hot-rolled bar consider UG-14, this can be eleviated using the requirements of code cases 2155 and 2156.
