Pressure drop across meter skid

Pressure drop across meter skid

Pressure drop across meter skid

(OP)
I have Pipeline Studio to model pipelines, the minimum system should be around 500 ft. I need to calculate the pressure drop across a meter skid, does anyone know if this can be done w/the software?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Pressure drop across meter skid

Do you mean that you are only trying to calculate the pressure drop of a meter skid and you're thinking about using PLS to model it?  If U R, that's kinda' nuclear overkill.  Normally you're going to want a 25 psi drop or less across the full meter skid at its design flowrate, so just set a max of 25 psi drop and make sure the fabricator gets that max allowed drop specified on the design data sheet that goes out with the RFQ, or if you're sizing the meters, select a size that does not have a PD of over 25 psi or so, or whatever other pressure drop you can live with.

If you have a X mile long pipeline with meters at both ends (or something similar) and you want to model the pressure drop, without entering in all the bends and fittings using only a flow element (as you should);  I use Stoner and with that I can enter a flow element with a given pressure drop at a given flow rate and tell the program to ratio the pressure drop for other flowrates.
