How to lathe cross section in UG

Hi all

How to take the lathe cross section for the round part having the boss on dia, which is not 360 degree.

Is there any automated process for taking the cross section

RE: How to lathe cross section in UG

What Version of NX are you Using ?

IN NX4 you can use the solid body and create a spun outline from the solid.

In earler versions you will need to use the Complex Section and create sections at each high point.

Then you can use the spun outline.

On the Geometry View of the ONT add a workpiece using the WCS as the parent.  Edit the workpiece and use the Solid as the Part geometry.  You can add the blank here if you want to.  Then when you edit the Turn_Workpiece the part boundary will already be there, almost like magic.  If you already have a turn workpiece you can delete any existing boundary and then drag and drop the object onto the Workpiece to inherit the boundary.
