Stress Analysis?

Stress Analysis?

Stress Analysis?

(OP)
I am working at an oil refining company and considering about stress analysis on piping.

Could some explain to me how will I do about gap(1ea,20mm)between pipe line supports and structure after operating.

Operating Temperature : 600'c
  Operating Pressure : 26kg/cm2
Piping Material : TP321
Piping Size : 20"

Is it possible to operate it to keep remaining gap?

RE: Stress Analysis?

Presumably you are concerned about excess span, or the gap itself ? Not enough information here.

You need to get a stress engineer on site.

RE: Stress Analysis?

sk...

1)  Have you performed any high temperature piping stress analysis before this particular assignment ?

2)  What is your "Code of Record" for this analysis ?

3)  Which software package are you using ? Whic version and edition ? Is it a fully registered or purloined copy ?

4)  600C is very hot... will you be performing a detailed anaysis at thickness transitions ?

5)  Do you have any integrally welded attachments to this piping ? If so do you have a methodolology established to deal with these ?
