HELP NEEDED- Zencrack or Franc3D with ABAQUS

(OP)
Hi,

Could someone please tell me if I can find (online) any step-by-step tutorials as to how to use the fracture growth software Zencrack or franc3D with the finite element software ABAQUS.

Thanks in advance
Rajesh

Not sure what you mean by "franc3D with the finite element software ABAQUS" since these are two completely different packages, but you can find Franc3D here:

http://www.cfg.cornell.edu/software/franc3d_osm.htm

If you are running MicroSoft, you have to load an operating system shell, but there is information on how to do this and the files that you need to load on the Cornell website.

Thanks so much for getting back on this GBor!!

I actually have Franc3D installed on my laptop. I am aware of some tutorials offered by Cornell fracture group for setting up model in ABAQUS and working with  Franc3D. I was wondering if there are any other sources online where I can get some more tutorials.

Actually I am trying to define a 3D curviplanar crack in Franc3D and I am having problem in defining the crack using crack edge co-ordinates. I am trying to manually input  the initial crack front co-ordinates and for some reason Franc3D is not able to map the fault surface (I do not know why!) . Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

RE: HELP NEEDED- Zencrack or Franc3D with ABAQUS

I'm certainly not the most qualified person with Franc3D.  You may be able to find someone in the aircraft engineering forum that does damage tolerance analyses with Franc3D, but try not to double-post...just find the aircraft forum and post a link back to this thread using the thread number near the top of this webpage.
