V518SP4 CATDrawing cannot see text then crashes

V518SP4 CATDrawing cannot see text then crashes

V518SP4 CATDrawing cannot see text then crashes

(OP)
Two workstations running V5R18 SP4 on Dell T5400 64Bit XP
When Internet Explorer (IE) was upgraded from V6 to V7
Now when opening CATDrawing. There is no text fonts then it
either locks ups or "OK to terminate".
Re-installed V5R18 but still V5 crashes. No alternative but to re-image the workstation.
This is a KILLER problem. Have tried everything.
Not sure what has caused V5 to fail but it must be updating or installing some windows software.
V5 integrity checks say its OK so it must be XP 64 bit
Has anyone had a similar problem. Need HELP urgently

RE: V518SP4 CATDrawing cannot see text then crashes

There are other posts about where this was pinned on graphics driver so I would check here first. I personally avoid IE7 like the plague is it is pants (and I am not sure what the DS support status of IE7 is, it did cause problems with smarteam viewers)
I have also seen this problem on 64bit AIX boxes & have not got to the bottom of it yet (graphic driver choices very limmited)

RE: V518SP4 CATDrawing cannot see text then crashes

Yeah try the graphics drivers.
What release of Catia were the parts made in?

Also prolly wont pertain to you since its a new install, but worth a try is to try clearing your CATSettings, the CATSettings are by default (in windows) C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application Data\DassaultSystemes.

Just rename the CATSettings folder to CATSettings.old
