Nice.  Check out his numbers:

Looks like he's got a next-generation one in progress now, too.  Linux only at this point, but some impressive time-savings with the rendering--cheap.

Very cool. I don't see a cost. I'm curious how much $$ to build it.

Since lots of those components are the same as what I used to build my system in February, perhaps we can extrapolate.
The chips probably cost ~$400 each (4 cores each x 6).
Motherboards, $120 each (x6)
RAM, $90 each (x6) (By the way, I have an identical extra set if you want it cheap.)
Power supply, $50 (x6)
Lots o'fans, $7 (x12)
IKEA case, $40

If that's all-inclusive and good guessing, the total is $3,364.  Not exactly cheap, but for that sort of power, a total steal.  Linux (of that flavor) might be free.

Let's not forget the build time itself...  probably not a weekend project.

For geeks like this guy, I'd actually imagine it was a weekend project.  Check out his mouse-made anemometer in which he flashes the chip with his own code to measure wind speed.  Yikes!  A bit beyond me.

And I thought putting together my own system from NewEgg parts was tough.
