Loose Fill for Buried Piping

Loose Fill for Buried Piping

Loose Fill for Buried Piping

(OP)
Does anyone know the name of a supplier for loose fill that can be used around sections of buried pipes (to allow some pipe movement)?

RE: Loose Fill for Buried Piping

a backfill supplier!

we really do not know your location, so contacting your local contractor/excavator may be helpful.

why do you want pipe movement?

good luck!

RE: Loose Fill for Buried Piping

pmover, while I don't know the present application nor suppliers of suitable aggregates etc. a reported use of some special sort of yielding backfills etc. for same are e.g. noted in the past thread at http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=21417&page=1 (and special, uncompacted fills in particular are mentioned at the end of my 18 Oct 05 post).

RE: Loose Fill for Buried Piping

Any hole dug during the waning moon will produce less dirt for refilling than one dug when the moon is waxing, according to an old pipeliners rule.
