Mould release
Mould release
(OP)
I'm putting an angled/tapered tip onto the end of a Pebax 55D tube. This involves clamping the tube, inserting it into a die (0.105" diameter) and heating it for 10secs. Excess flash is removed and the part is then removed. Removing the part is proving difficult. I've tried using other injection mould releases (Universal, Paintable ester etc) but no having much luck. Would anyone know of non- silicone medical grade mould releases agent suitable for working temperature 175C?
Thanks & Regards

RE: Mould release
There are also some lecithin based sprays used by bakeries that can take a little higher temperature.

Pam is for eating and is used to cook with in Hospitals. Just check with a hospital dietician
I'm looking at a diet recommendations for Diabetics and another for Heart trouble that say use Pam.
I think you can buy soy lecithin with a USP label
You also might try USP mineral oil from the drug store.
RE: Mould release
It is basically beef fat and zinc and is a soap. Check with suppliers, but I think it should be OK with medical contact.
