(OP)
We're revising our drawing standards to conform more closely to ASME Y14-100 and running into question in  regards to naming conventions by non-engineers.  What seems to help are examples of the naming convetion as applied to common parts, any idea on where a reference list may be obtained?

thanks

RE: examples of AMSE Y14.100 naming conventions

Naming convention: Noun Category, Modifier 1, Modifier 2, etc, etc.  Reading a nomenclature backwards should make sense.

Stapler, Black, 747, Swingline
Pencil, Mechanical, 0.5mm, Berol

^^ What he said.  But he never did get into separating the first line of the title from the second line of the title with a dash.  Now that's fun.
