Elastic Responce Spectrum

Elastic Responce Spectrum

(OP)
Hi,

I would like your help with this:

I wan't to simulate a water filled tank in seismic responce.

1. I read in a paper that solid45 element was chosen over fluid80 element using fluid element properties as:

E=B[3(1-2ν)] where bulk modulus of water is 300000lbf/in2 and ν=0.4999.

So it could be use simply the contact option.

I convert these units and set in solid elements

EX=1265.52 kN/m2
V=0.0001145 m2/sec
D=10 kN/m3

Do you thing this could be correct?

2. Could you help me (just the steps in GUI) how we can set an elastic response spectrum g vs. T?

What is the difference between Single Point and multi point spectrum?

Thaks a lot

PS : as previous abaqus user I think ansys is much more friendly and simpler
