Site Engineer Handbook??

Site Engineer Handbook??

Site Engineer Handbook??

(OP)
I have recently accepted a position as a site engineer for a water project. It is only my second job since graduating and I have little postgraduate experience (3 years) and am beginning to get quite daunted by the prospect. Could someone reccommend a handbook for site engineers? Also, a reccommendation for environmental engineering handbook would also be helpful. Thanks in advance.

RE: Site Engineer Handbook??

Can you clarify a little.  By site engineer do you mean on-site contruction manager?  By water project do you mean water distribution or water treatment facilities?

RE: Site Engineer Handbook??

Start by collecting all SOP's and reading them thoroughly

RE: Site Engineer Handbook??

A good handbook:

Water Supply and Pollution Control, 7th Edition, Warren Viessman, Jr. and Mark J. Hammer, Pearson Prentice Hall, 2005.

Thanks for the replies.

To clarify; I will be working as the resident engineer for the client, which in my case will be the local government here in Ireland, on a water supply scheme.

Given that I have little experience on-site I was wondering if there a consise general handbook for site engineers available. A similar concise handbook on environmental engineering would also be helpful.

I have all the college books and passed all the exams etc., but would like to know if anyone has come across such handbooks.

Thanks again.
