Kitchen exhaust requirement (NFPA 96)

Kitchen exhaust requirement (NFPA 96)

(OP)
Hello all,

Does anyone know what NFPA 96 requires of kitchen exhaust systems concerning the clearance requirements between the ductwork and the shaft wall? The shaft wall is made of non-combustible material.

The Ontario Building Code specifies make up air duct work to have a minimum of 2" clear all around in a duct shaft, but I cannot find anything on kitchen exhaust systems.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

I went to this site...initially thought I had to buy, but after reading your message, I scrolled down further and noticed I can read it for free, but can't copy or download.

Well, you can still "print screen" and paste into your Paint program...then print it (scaled to fit one page).

good idea
