MS project dates

(OP)
Hello I have a problem understanding how MS project calculates the duration from the start and finish dates.
for example i have a start date Wed 23/04 and a finish date Wed 30/4 which gives according to ms project 5 days..
To me it should 6 days.. what am I missing??

RE: MS project dates

You are missing several steps:

Is this an assignment?  What is the task type?  When is the predessor task completing? If there is no assignment, look at the project calendar availability of working time, the options for calendar time and the ending time of the predessor task.  That will let you know why it is taking longer than you expect.

Good luck
