Swept Feature

Swept Feature

(OP)
I've created a wavy path made from half circles tangent to each and where all the circles follow a circular pattern.  I've created a half circle as the pattern and pierced it to the path.  I'm trying to create a sweep (like a wavy bead that runs around a part in a circular fashion), but the feature will only sweep the first single half circle it is pierced to, and not the entire path of tangent half circles.  Is there something I need to do to "tie together" the series of half circles that make the path?

Thanks

RE: Swept Feature

Are all of your half circles separate sketches?  If they are then you can create a "master" sketch.  Just create a new sketch and convert all of the other sketch entities.  This should give you a clear path.

If all of the lines are in the same sketch, then select them all, right-click and choose "Make Path".

That should get you where you need to go.  Also, you don't need the pierce constraint for sweeps.

RE: Swept Feature

Or use the curve tool "composite curve"

RE: Swept Feature

If possible with this design intent I would pattern the feature rather than create a complex sweep path. Create the simple sweep and pattern.

RE: Swept Feature

Does it work if you attempt to sweep a surface instead of a solid?  Can you post an image for reference?  (I'm wondering if you have an edge on an edge.  This might be a problem with solids, but should be fine as a surface.)

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I'm not sure what the issue was... but I recreated  the path and a new profile... and all worked well as intended.  One of those things....... but thanks for the help.
